Default best reason for a harley

Had my FXST since January and other harleys/bikes prior to this. I love it, probably for the same reasons ya'll do. But, 3 weeks ago my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and yesterday she had a bimodal mastestomy. The prognosis is good but I gotta tell you the best mental escape I have had has been thinking about or riding (way too fast) the bike. It has been an unexpected and unforseen benefit of the purchase. Sorry for dumping this s#it, had to do it. Ya'll be safe,

tmac

tmac,
It's nice to have a release to escape the horrors of life and the mental anguish that seems inevidable that comes with it. As far as your wife ....glad the prognosis is favorable. I wish the best of luck for your wife and your family, stay strong and focused as you already know she needs you more than ever. As far as your bike be extra carefull, take care and be safe!

P.S. Your not dumping anything on any of us, we all are here for Harleys but more
so here to support one another especially in times of stress and turmoil......anytime you need to talk or vent the brotherhood is here for ya!

T.K.

TraumaKing and Citoriplus,

Thanks for the support, you're decent/compassionate people. Means a lot to me. This kinda thing sure gives you perspective on life.

Please don't let that get around, it'll wreck my reputation for being a hard a$$ SOB.

[sm=joke.gif]My friend, my mother died from the after effects of breast cancer. So I can understand where you and the Mrs.are coming from and truely sympathize.
My prayers are with you and yours.

Christ Citoriplus, Im sorry. it's a friggin epidemic. My younger sister had it at 28 and my mother-in-law (who lives up to every stereotype ever expressed) had it at 52. Both survived and it's been 15 years. Sorry man,

Thanks tmac, she passed away over 15 years ago after a10 years fight with it.
And shedid fight it, the docs had only given her a 50/50 chance of lasting 6 months when they first found it. But she was really tough, she had 10 kids so there wasn't much doubt on that score. She liked to kid us thatshe beat the odds by living long enough to see her youngest get married then outliving thedoctors who did hersurgery and kemo treatments.
But the last year or so was the worst for her. She had to stay in thehospital all that time butthey couldn't/wouldn'tgive her enough pain killers to help.
