Default Opinions on new exhaust pipes

Hi folks,

I am going to do a performance upgrade to my 07' Deluxe. I have looked over several sites, including Vance & Hines, Sampson, BUB, Cobra, etc...

I would appreciate any recommendations, as to what pipes to get. The only ones I am not interested in are the Big Radius or 2 into 1 setups. I prefer to keep the bike as nostalgic lookingas possible. TIA for any opinions and all are appreciated.

We put Rush slip on baloney cuts on my wife's Deluxe. Has a nice throaty sound without being obnoxiously loud.

Dude, all depends what you're looking for in pipes...kinda hard to advise you on any. I've got the V&H Short Shots and love 'em. Sounds great while idelling and accelerating...and smooth while cruising.

If you are going for the nostalgic look i dont think the big radius or a 2 into 1 is the go.For performance the 2 into 1 appears the best option but does not give the bike a nostalgic feel.

I like the look of the big shot longs.I recently put softail duals on and really like them (see my sig).Look pretty nostalgic in my book.

But its so subjective as far as which exhaust.Go to a hangout and listen to some systems and see what you like.I am quite partial to v&h and they have some great pipes.

But as far as nostalgic looksthe dual systems are the go.Samson duals seem to be quite popular as well.Personally i prefer big radius on a Deuce or night train.

Just confused you even more haven't i......

I like the nostalgic look as well so I'd say V&H Big Shot longs or Samson Fishtails

Thanks for the input. I just want some ideas as to what people think. I am leaning towards the V&H Big Shot longs. I have until mid July to make up my mind, so we'll see.

Any more input still appreciated...thx!

You've got a beautiful Deluxe there, great colouring. Are you running a custom rim on the rear? If you're going to stick with the OEM rim i'd opt for something a bit longer like the VH Bigshots. If you're going to change out the rim or if you already have a custome rear, keep the pipes a bit shorter to show it off.

After seeing how good a set of V&H True Duals looked/sounded on a Deluxe, I got them for my Heritage.

Good luck w/your choice.
