Pretty much sums it up. I throw in some shades, documents and my cap, after that my gloves will just make it. I see fitting a tightly rolled up thin jacket if anything.

I have the Harley swing arm bag and a nice low profile Motherwell gloss black luggage rack which follows the contour of the rear fender perfectly. I carry a waterproof nylon stuff sack like you would use for a back packing sized sleeping bag and some adjustable ROK straps in my swing arm bag. I place my leather jacket and gloves in the stuff sack and strap it on the luggage rack which allows me to keep minimalist look of the Slim I bought it for. It rolls up nice and is low profile on the rack. When I want to carry the kitchen sink and go much longer distances or touring, I take my Street Glide.

Another Leatherworks fan here! The "XL" will definitely hold more then a light jacket and a sandwich, and I agree about the top notch quality.... I also think the real Indian head nickels are a cool touch!!

What kind of mounting straps does the Leather Works bag use? Do s it have a hard backing like the HD one?

It comes with leather straps, but I used 4 large zip-ties to mount it, and only used the leather straps to cover/hide the zip-ties. The leather straps just don't get tight enough... I also used gaffers tape to protect the paint under it.

I have the Harley swing arm bag and its really small, holds very little, and with the bike on the jiffy stand you've got to get on your knees to access it.

If its a real light jacket you'd probably be able too squeeze it in.

The Harley bag comes with clear adhesive tape to protect the swing arm paint - be sure to add some tape regardless of the brand you settle on.

Is the backing of the bag were the zip ties attach to hard plastic?
