I have a 92 Fatboy, the taillight burned out so i replaced it and noticed the brake light wasnt working either, when engaging rear brake theres nothing and when engaging the front the tail light blinks, im sure its a loose wire, does anyone have the link for wiring diagrams?? Thanks
I didnt know there was a switch by the lower frame, where exactly would it be located? I have had the tanks & seat off, i had sum issues with the turn signals, had to pretty much rewire them, and at that time everything worked fine,
There are 2 switches, 1 in the bar perch throttle side, the other is on or near the rear master cylinder.
Follow the rear brake line, you'll find it. But regardless the bulb shouldn't blink unless you've added a strobe module. But that's getting ahead of ourselves.
Dos the front brake handle light the bulb every time, even just to blink?
Does the rear brake not light it at all?
When pressing the rear brake i got nothing, but when squeezing front brake the tail light just blinks, ya kinda odd i thought also, im an electrician by day, my guess would be they are both bad, the switches i mean...
Just goes out and back on, when squeezin front brake, no sizzling tho, lol, thats where my first look was gonna be, under seat, im familiar with the connector there, just been workin, no chance to get to it yet, figured id post on here see what info i get before i i tear into it, thanks
Both switch wires meet at the plug then go to the brake light.
Check there for a break or corrosion. If the brake light’s flickering the wire is more than likely intact from the plug to the light.
