Default RE: Official Fat Rear Tire Thread

I'm almost done with my project. I converted my 06 Night Train using the Heartland 250 kit but using a 240 tire instead. I had the Heartland 200ez kit painted vivid black with gloss black power coated struts prior and their L.E.D. lighting. Any one interested let me know. Can't wait to get the bike, everything is coming together. Will post some photos when done.

Default Phatail 250 on 03 Fatboy Pulley issue

Help sought.

I have a Phatail 250 kit 1/2 way installed on my 03 fatboy. I also purchased a 18x8.5 Weld Wheels solid wheel to go with it.

The local workshop (I am in Dubai, Middle East, the "mechanics" have done plenty of other work for me and I have found their previous work to be satisfactory) has told and tried to show me that now the original pulley I had on the bike which is just a 70 tooth standard size, but aftermarket, pulley will not fit because the thickness of the pulley where it bolts to the hub is too thick. It is 13mm (.512 inches) and they say it is pushing the wheel to the right and making the wheel out of alignment. They tried an old, but not usable, pulley that is 8mm (.312 inches) in thickness and they say this is what I need.

The problem is I haven't been able to find a pulley online that has this dimension. And even if I do find one, I would have to buy it, get it shipped here and only then will I find out whether it will do this job or not.

Can anyone help please. I am not sure what to do. I don't want to really buy a whole new wheel and pulley (the brake disc fits ok), if I can avoid it. Is there any reason why we could not machine 5mm (.197 inch) off the face of the wheel hub where the pulley bolts on.

Regards

Default RE: fat tire kit

Heres what I have found. I have an 05 duece I put the hogpro 200 kit on it and love it.It handles very good even in the twisties still have the bike. I bought a 08 Vrod it had the 240 on it looked awsome but I hated the handling.I mean it was ok but if you went into a turn at the same speed as on my deuce the 240 wanted to straighten up and you would run out of road. I hated it so I traded it in on my 09 softail custom it has a 200 and rides thru turns with ease.So I dont ever want a tire wider than 200 or maybe 210 at the most
