IMO There have always been "Classic Harleys" My XLCR is a classic. (although I had to change the seating position and throw on a set of home made rear-sets to make it rideable) I believe the V-Rod Muscle will become a classic, I also believe the Breakout will become a classic, that's why I would be afraid to do anything that couldn't be reversed to it. It's kind of like if you have the money you park your Ferrari in the garage and drive your Corvette to work, haha. You definitely do have a nice bike though.
