Congrats on the new scoot! I love the color combo you got. I just picked up my new softail a few days ago and cant wipe the smile off my face, Im sure you know the feeling!

I am also considering bags for my 2007 FXSTC. But love the bike without any bags and so far depend on a backpack :-)

Dont know about the forward controls, but I have a set of Willie and Max throw overs bags I attach with a set of Easy Brackets when I need bags on the bike..

I don't like the looks of bags on a Custom, so I went with the Easy Bracket setup to pop them on and off quickly. The Easy Bracket mounting posts are clean looking and not really noticable when you look at the bike...

yea i put forward exctions on my 07 before i even road the bike a mille. i put ness 3 inch exctions on. i like them easy to put on and the nice thing is you get a beaded rear break lone cable with the kit. i belive it ran me $170 or so. one thing i will say is the bike will lean more when you put the kick stand down but it is nothing big.
