Default Wrinkle or gloss black Outer Primary Pics

I'm trying to decide whether to go with wrinkle black or gloss black on my 2018 Softail Slim outer primary cover. I love the gloss black and it would match up with the other black accessories on the 18 Slims. However, I'm not keen on having the shiny cover where its likely to get frequently kicked and rubbed with boots shifting and putting down the kick stand. Does anyone have pics of the wrinkle and the gloss and their opinions on their choice you can share? Thanks!

Yep. Wrinkle black on my 18 Fat bob and I wouldn't want gloss there.....for the reason you said.

I have 2016 FXDB with wrinkle and 2018 FLHCS with gloss. Something about the gloss black just looks out of place. Wrinkle ..... for sure!!!

I think it can depend on the bike, maybe you should post a pic of yours...but most of the time I think wrinkle looks best, and it's what I went with on my Breakout.

OK... this may be a little before your time... but....

The only gloss black primary cover I had was on my 1980 FXS. I liked the gloss black contrast to the black wrinkle finish on the rest of the engine.

I kept that bike for 9 years and 118,000 miles. When I traded it in on a 1989 Heritage, with one of them new fangled EVO engines, the black primary would still shine up like new... very little "wear" marks on it...

I think it looks much better than a black wrinkle outer primary on a black wrinkle engine... but that's just my opinion...

I like wrinkle on drive train hardware and gloss on the rest.

If you go with powdercoating you'll have a lot more possibilities.
I had mine done using what my PC'er called H-D's "texture black", and it came out a dead match for the black denim, with a not-quite-smooth satin finish.
I'm very happy with the final result...
