I installed a Truck lite phase 7 and also bought the French trim ring to hide the gap it created. For the life of me I couldn’t get it to clear the metal tab on the housing. The stock trim has a cut out that the tab slides thru then you just turn the trim. No cut out on the French one. The Harley dealer says it just won’t fit because the truck lite is junk and designed wrong. I have read about plenty of people installing the French trim. Am I missing something. Do I need to cut out my own notch. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks lol. I just spent another half hour on it and did not find a simple trick. Only thing I can think is to cut out notches like the stock ring has.
