Default New Fatboy

I just got a 2003 Anniversary Fatboy, and I'm in love! I want a engine guard for it, because I'm 6"2" and want to be able to stretch my legs out, and I heard the KURYAKYN ERGO PLUS ENGINE GUARD was the bomb. What do you'all think? Thanks.......Anew member of the family.

Congratulations on a great choice! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I think the engine guard idea will work out well for you.

I am also thinking of installing the Kuryakyn Ergo Plus Engine Guard. However I'm waiting to see a bike or some pictures of one with it installed to make sure I like it.

I have a 2003 FatBoy, and enjoy it more than any other Harley that I have owned.

Rather than go with an 'engine guard', I installed the adjustable Mark IV frame mounted cruise arms.

Those (along with the floorboards) give an almost unlimited number of positions for stretching out.

I'm also 6'2" with a 34" inseam.

That Ergo thing looks funky. [&:]..Those Mark IV cruise arms look pretty sweet though. I'd like to pick up a set of those in the future.

Yah, I don't like engine guards on a Fat Boy. Those Mark IV's are sweet. Where did you get those? Easy to put on?

Another thing I like (besides having about 3" of adjustment in them) is that your feet are positioned down low when your legs are extended, and not up at a higher, unnatural position that so often happens when you put pegs on an engine guard.

I have my cruise arms positioned so my heels can rest on the upper portion of the floorboards, while the sole of my boots lays naturally on the forward pegs.

Very comfortable.

I got them last Fall from Eastern Performance Cycles;

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KURYA...mZ140129273423

Purchased quite a bit of stuff from them, and they have always provided great service.

The frame mounted Mark 4 Cruise Arms come in two sizes,Model 7840 which isrecommended for people with inseams under 31", and the extended Model 7841 (which I got) for longer inseams.

Looks like the price has gone up somewhat, as I believe that I paid $139 (with free shipping).

My inseam is 32. Think the extended is the way to go for me?
