My Heritage SBs are still new. Yes they are leather. I gooped as much of the Harley brand wax on as I could. After a week it all soaked in - no need to wipe it off. So I'm thinking of putting another coat on.
A friend, in addition to using the Harley wax, also uses black shoe polish to fill in scratches and blemishes on the leather surface.

When I looked at the treatment that Harley provided with the bags on my 08 my first impression was 'Hmmmmm that looks just like Sno-Seal'. So I got out my can of Sno-Seal to compare them..... Sure look the same, both in the can and when applied. I've been using Sno-Seal for years..... Good Stuff. Don't know what the Stealer charges for the Harley stuff but my last can of Sno-Seal is marked $3.99 and will do my bags for a year or two at least.

To those who use mink oil, before you switch to something like the HD or Sno-Seal you should ckeck with someone who really know leather care. I believe I remember from a long time ago that the use of these two products were exclsuive of each other.
