Question 2004 Night train headlight and tri bar tail light help

So my search for a softail ended today after I put a deposit down on a 1 owner 2004 night train (sorry no pics yet). I have a few questions about lighting though.

First thing is this bike has been converted to dual headlights similar to some of the newer fatbobs. I would like to return it to the original single 5-3/4 style headlight but don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a headlight bucket sat harley. I have read that a deuce bucket will work, but I was wondering if anybody knows of an eBay headlight bucket that will bolt right up on the night train?

Second, part of what has always attracted me to these softails when customized I said the tri bar tail light- except I can't find any that are made for a pre 06' softail. What is the difference in years that pre 06' are different? And does anyone know if there are tri bar lights made for the earlier bikes? I NEED that look on this thing and in my searching I am coming up with nothing.

Im sure I will have more questoins in the future but there are a lot of night train threads I can browse first (couldn't find this info, especially the tail light stuff, in the ones I've viewed so far)

thanks in advance

In looking around it seems that sportster share the same tail light...would an aftermarket LED low pro one work in place of the factory night train one?

Trilights were only made for the 06-09 model Nightrains and any other bob tailed fendered bikes, the difference being they are all fitted with a 200mm rear wheel and fender to match. There are after market alternatives for your year of bike but they're not tri-lights.

Ive been searching for a few hours and you're right, I have found ZERO tri lights

Yes that looks like it would.

I found this post on here..(post #7041)

that kuryakyn light he is using when I looked it up looks identical to this light I used on my sportster

I would like to run the license plate off on a side mount so I wouldn't need the plate light part to function, but I am wondering if physically these lights for sportsters and this year night train are the same size? If so it should bolt right in (and wiring it up of course) and be more of a low profile design?

Still need to figure out which headlight bucket will work best now since I also have a link for a good 5-3/4 head lamp that I used on my sportster as well.

Would have thought you could have picked up a NT headlight at a Harley car boot type sale, think it's just a simple Bates type light. Anyway good luck, and good choice of bike, I've had my 06 NT since new and never been tempted to sell it, espially with what Harley's are turning out now.

Would have thought you could have picked up a cheap NT headlight at a Harley type jumble sale, it's only a simple bates type light, anyway good luck, and good choice of bike I've had my 06 NT since I bought it new and haven't been tempted to trade it in, especially with what Harley's are turning out now.

There are all sorts of chrome headlight buckets on Ebay, but I am just not sure how they will fit since even though they say "Harley" they are more of the universal chinese kinda deal lol. I am super happy with my purchase though! I was not originally looking for a night train even though I have always loved them because they aren't commonly for sale, and not usually in my price range. I don't think I will be selling this thing, just adding to the collection of bikes at a later date

I will check it out. Worst comes to worst I could go to Harley and buy a new one, but I don't want to drop hundreds of dollars on something I know I can acquire for a 1/3rd of the price elsewhere
