Your referring to the got saggy bags product. Have thought about that route product is on my short list.

I did the Leather Lids kit myself but others have had great success with GSB kits also, I just think a complete bag kit for the same money is worth it. Like I mentioned its a little more work but the bags came out great.

Only my opinion so it is not worth much. Seems to me that the systems that place something inside the top are overkill. As long as the bag is supported around the top everything else fall into place. The lid only collapses because the bag collapses.
On my first Heritage I bought the Boss Bags system and it is good but I never locked my bags so for me it was not money well spent.
Pretty sure any of them work to stiffen the bag just a matter of choice.

I do prefer the option of a lock. I get that it's not foolproof by any stretch of the imagination. But I figure it could at least be enough of a deterrent. An ounce of prevention and all

Got Saggy Bags offers a lock option.
I have it installed and it does provide a deterrent.

Just got the saggy bags and installed them on my bike. Bags look great again. Haven't installed the lid pieces yet. Not sure I will. Seems they will limit how far you can get the bag open. So far very pleased with the decision to get saggy bags kit.

Did you ever do this, or find it necessary?

Just finished installing them in mine and they sure look better.

I didn't use rivets only because I could not find a rivet gun to borrow but I did use small round head bolts. Three on the front support and two on the rear. Also, used large washers maybe 1 inch to 1 1/4 inch. It does make them more permanent and keeps them against the bag. I would do it again. Mine are sort of close to the ends. hope this helps. I can send you pics if you like.

Cool, thanks. I can visualize what you did. I think I'll give it some time for the bags to take to the new shape, then clean and treat them before I decide if I need to do it too. The outer supports in my kit are some sort of plastic so I'm a bit reluctant to drill and bolt them to the bags. But, if they break I can get some UHMW and make new ones.
