Default Painting upper fork covers ideas

Hello

2014 Slim. I really like the look of the upper fork covers in black but I dont want to buy new set from stealer and I will prefer not to remove front forks. One idea that make sense is to paint what I already have on the bike.

I am not sure how to remove front cover behind headlight? Do I have to remove whole headlight? Is it hard with cabels connection or even necessary? I thought I can slide this cover high enough to paint these fork covers and be done with it.

Can I buy factory black gloss paint that I can use or I am rather on my own matching black from local automotive store?

what do you guys think of this idea?

I would love to see slim 2014 with upper covers in black to see the look. Not whole blacked out 110" models just upper part of front and stock aluminum bottom front end.

It probably would have been a lot easier to just remove the cow bells that that crazy cover job. None the less it looks like your on your way to getting it done

I actually thought about it just not confident I will stick it so nicely. I think your finish is nicer then mine and I will do oem bells if I ever take my bike apart but I am not looking forward to it to be honest so this might be on my ride for a while.

Good job mate

Would you mind to post pucture of your bike front and side (whole bike) for me as I am debating painting headllight ring as well but somehow like balance between chrome and black after I painted my bells. Would be nice to see the flow with whole bike on the picture from the front and side.
