Very cool guys. I love the photos and suggestions. I'd like to get a smooth Heritage style front fender for it. Any suggestions on where to find one or which companies to go with (or stay away from)?

Flipping it is not an option. I had to sell the bike in my sig pic and a close and extremely generous friend had basically given this to me, so I could be back on a bike again. I am super grateful to have it and will love riding it.

Here is a photo of the bike. I should have put this up in the begining.

I'd do basic maintenance and ride it awhile. You'll figure it out after you get some miles on it.

Other than the backrest looking a little bit uncomfortable, I'd run it just the way it is, looks good!

I miss my old EVO... (always looking for another).
If it was mine I would clean her up, make sure she is in good running condition and ride her.
If you want change the front fender and paint and are thinking mat/flat I would recommend talking to hot rod shop about the additive you can put in the clear coat.
It gives you the look without all the BS of trying to maintain the finish.
A few mild mods would be ok as long as it does not ruin the motor and its ride ability.

Enjoy it the rest of my life as I am doing . I still have mine Great bike. It has had a side car on it. now back to just two wheels. Lot of bikes have come and gone this one has never left. The leather bags been with it from day one. Come off some times on when needed.
Lowest cost to own bike I have ever had.
If you have questions working on it I have the HD Service manual

That’s actually a pretty nice paint job. Ride the wheels off it!
ETA:Get rid of the whip. Maybe use it in the bedroom.

Here was the bike in February

It's been a few months and I am just about done. Here is the bike as it sits right now. The only additional change will be a Thunderheader I picked up used. It was a Craigslist find and I was told it was from a '98 Fatboy. The only part number on it is "011 P". It looks hand engraved onto the pipe. I need to come up with a mounting bracket for it though.

Anyway, the bike has new wheels, paint on the tins, saddle and bars. Other than that, just a lot of elbow grease. A LOT!!

Let me know what you think.

Bike looks great! I resurected an old Fatty a couple winters ago and it was a blast to work on/ride. Traded up too the E-glide sport in my sig pic. You can not beat the old EVO's!
