Default 2018 Sport Glide FLSB tuning opinions

New forum member, new bike. Previously had a 2001 Sportster 1200 custom.

Picked up the Sport Glide on November 11th and love the damn thing. Only problem is it's not loud enough for me.

Thinking about putting the Tab Performance Zombie slip-on muffler on and auto-tuning it. Stock pipes, stock 02 sensors... I think I'd be fine with a Vance and Hines FP3.

Can anyone confirm this? The other option is double the price for a wide band kit and an auto-tuner. And double the hassle to install.

Another reason I'm thinking about the slip-on instead of a full exhaust. Swap it back over, flash the bike and be good for service.

I think there's a "flash" counter built into the ecm. They may be able to tell if it was previously tuned.

Congrats on your Sport Glide, may be my next bike. My understanding is a aftermarket turner might take away the motor warranty, ask your dealer and if he tells you your covered, be sure to get that in writing. Same thing if you take the cat off. BTW I'm going to PM you with some questions on your new bike.

Use the SE Pro Street Tuner and Smart Tune Pro in order to keep your warranty intact. Adding a high flow air cleaner will help as well.

Just ordered the Tab Performance slip-on with the 2 1/4 louvered baffle. Talked with Tech support today, they said the 2 1/4 baffle is about twice as loud as stock, the zombie is more yet. I am going to use the ventilator intake with the SE street performance tuner. Will change out the muffler for warranty work. The baffles can be interchanged. Cutting a dark smoke 3/16 hard coat polycarbonite
6 1/2 windshield for it now, will hot form the curve in it tomorrow.

So.... I said **** It.

-Vance and Hines Shortshots exhaust on a 2018 Sport Glide
-Screamin Eagle high flow air cleaner with stock cover
-Dyno Tuning using factory ECU at Pikes Peak Harley Davidson
-Still waiting on my saddlebag bracket to come in. Vance and Hines didn't get them out in time but it can still been installed without it.

Nice...I did the exact same thing. My dealer just had me buy the V/H slip-on's and FP3 and I had them install the H-D, Hi-Flow A/C and had them program it...Bang done and warranty stays in tact...They said as long as anything non-HD accessories are not on the work order they, and they install, they honor warranty...they have been doing this way ever since the crackdown and never had a warranty denied .

The FP3 results in an automatic, irrevocable powertrain warranty denial on any 2017, 2018, 2019, or 2020 Harley. Dealer doesn't get a say in it. So the dealer may be providing you their own store warranty guarantee, but if your bike is a 2017 or later, your Harley factory warrant is absolutely guaranteed gone, as per the EPA Consent Decree. If your dealer told you that an FP3 wouldn't void your warranty, then your dealer doesn't know what he's talking about, and just for that alone he should warranty your bike himself.
