Installed New Samson Exhaust - Have a few Concerns
#11
Tuned for stage 1 ... did they just put on the canned tune or did they "tune" it properly for open pipes? You might be running too lean an thus pipes get very hot.
Had the V&H Duals on my Xbones in the tropics and never experienced heat coming of the left pipe as you describe it.

I installed V&H softail duals on my '15 slim an it got pretty warm on the left thigh so I removed the heat shield an wrapped that section of the pipe with exhaust wrap an secured it with safety wire an put the heat shield back on. I can still feel it a little but it's no big deal now.
Reason I'm asking, I read where folks said their pipes started to peel away in layers from extended use of the heat wrap.

I've hear/read bad things about wrapping pipes but seems like that occurs by the jugs where it's the hottest. I considered just laying the wrap on the top an side of the pipe facing my leg so the bottom an back would be free to vent the heat but I just went with the wrap. I have a FP3 tuner with a canned tune an it runs well an not not, I planned on doing an auto tune but then I bought cams so I decided to just wait.
It's a few hundred bucks to have an exhaust system "jet coated" I wonder if they'd just do that one section of pipe an how much that would cost.

I don't have a problem with heat, but then I'm over 6 feet tall with a 34" inseam, my legs are never near the pipe.
