I had mine for 8 years and 112,000 miles. I replaced all the bushings at 70,000 miles and other than that I didn’t do anything to it other than periodic neck bearing adjustments. I didn’t baby it either. It took me on a lot of dirt roads including a round trip on the Al-Can and always gave me a good ride. I have nothing but good to say regarding the design.

Default springy

I have 5 bikes and my 08 Crossbones gets ridden the most. Biggest problem I've had is seats. Stock kept pushing me forward, put on a seat from my 53 pan and it put the jewels asleep. I now have a frame mounted seat and better rear shocks and am a happy camper. I really like it's ride and get hypnotized watching the springs work. Handles fine for me but I'm old and slow. Just did a 200 mile run and the seat is working great. Went over the pass from Prescott and on to my hm in Cornville so suspension got a workout with all the 20 and 15 mph switchbacks.

I've been eyeballing a couple of used OEM springer front ends to convert mine over, but they are commanding mucho dinero for them.

It's only money...think of riding over the bridge onto Daytona Beach with that Springer leading the way...
