I have an 05 Night Train and would love some more info on this! I'm just about to get some mods done (wheels etc) and this would be handy to know. I want to go to a 200 rear.

Hey there Sdible

For the 17" Deuce rear rim. You could indeed put a
180 SE tire on there without changing anything. My
Montreal Harley dealer actually offers it for the Deuces
at a price of 500.00 cdn. Guess what I'm getting done
when my stock rear tire wears out??

Heres a close up. Apparently the pics are too big and I can only upload one at a time. Thats a 200/50/zr18 metzeler 880.

heres a side view. thats a strutless 9" fender. you need a 18x5.5 rear wheel. A 13/16" belt and pulley off of a 2006 softail. if you use a metz you also need a 1/2" or 9/16" pulley spacer. it puts the belt pretty close to the tire and the pulley pretty close to the swingarm, but there is about 1/4" gap on both. I had to grind a SMALL amount off the caliper. I used all the stock wheel spacers. The wheels are DNA 40 spoke with black powdercoated rims.

And that 180 rear will fit up in the stock Softail Standard FXST ('05) fender without any issues?

I may go with that route since I like the look of the deuce rear wheel anyway.

That looks really great.

Did you have to modify your swingarm at all?

thanks, it was alot of work, ie. trial and error. I tried 3 different fenders till I found the one I liked. And to answer your question, no swingarm mods at all.

Hey Eldiablo

Make sure your fender is wide enough for the 180.
I know the Deuce's fender will take it but not sure
about the bobtail fender.
