Saw the Sport Glide yesterday
I had a chance to examine the new Sport Glide yesterday. My local dealer had one in Vivid Black there. A few impressions.
Firstly, the bike sits at about the same height as a Fat Boy. So not-so-tall guys like myself will be able to flat-foot the bike fine.
Secondly, I really like the wheels. They look great and should fight corrosion a lot better than spokes. Spokes are a problem here on the coast what with the salt air.
The "cowling" if that is what it is, no doubt makes the bike more aerodynamic, but make no mistake, it does not function as a windshield. I like the look better than the headlight on the Fat Boy, but I'm not sure if I owned the Sport Glide what I would do about a windshield. You can take the cowling off, and maybe some guys will do that in order to attach a windshield. I wouldn't be surprised if HD doesn't come out with a version with more of a windshield attached to the cowling.
I like the tires. Not quite as outrageous as the Fat Boy wide tires, but still wide.
The bags seem nice. Not like a Road King's touring bags, but very handy to throw some stuff in for an overnight ride or whatnot.
My guess is that this one is going to be a good seller.

I won't be getting rid of my slim any time soon but I like the quick detach bags an mini fairing...I'd bet it does a good job of keeping the air off your chest to reduce fatigue from fighting the air at highway speeds. I'm not an aggressive rider but I'd like to try the inverted fork with the mono shock rear.

Till I park my Evo next to it.
Messing with you bro. Love the Lo, but really pushing yourself to contribute to this thread I see. You haven't heard the right M8 yet.
The Sport Glide has a taller factory shield accessory for the fairing. Think it adds 8" for those that want it.

Actually, I agree with that. As much as I like the new Softails (and I do like them, especially the suspension and M8 engines) I have not found a 2018 that I like as much as my 2015 Fat Boy.
The Sport Glide is a good looking bike though. I like the new digital guage/speedometer/tach on the new bike. Looks really cool.
