I kind of like the look of the batwing fairing and was thinking it might help with the buffeting as well. I was doing some measuring and while the width of the 2018 brackets appear to be the same as the 2017, I think the height measurement between the bolts on each side are maybe an inch or so longer.

 

I remember someone mentioning the bolt height was different when trying to add fork deflector fangs.

 

Do you know if a shield for an '18 is available from either of these companies yet?

 

I don't see anything on LRS site yet. I know one forum member posted that Freedom was making one for their Heritage complete with blacked out section to match the look of the stock shield.

 

I just pulled the trigger on a 2018 Slim Monday and I asked about the batwing while I was in the parts area. They said they didn't know of anyone who had one out yet. Said Harley def didn't have one but we could expect one at some point. I hope someone gets one out soon, I would like to get it myself.

Does the Heritage windshield use a different bolt hole pattern than a Road King?

 

Not sure the differences, but Fat Boy and Heritage shields are a separate link to Road King shields on the LRS site. Honestly haven't seen a '17+ Road King at the dealer aside from specials so I haven't seen if there are any changes. My '16 RK shield looked different to me than my Heritage but can't compare directly.

 

Put a Stealth batwing on my Fatboy Lo S. Absolutely love it.
