Don't know about that I think the wrist pin might be pushing up against the barrel every now and then , really hope not .
I had it happen way back late 80's to a shovel and once around 09 to an Evo I bought real cheap.
Yea I hope it's just fuel or something !

I can say its happened about 2x's in the past month, it doesn't seem that the motor stops. It seems like everything is still running, just a split second drop of power.

Until you're prepared to actually try any of the advise offered, nothing will be fixed.
Goodluck.

This happend to me while back on Sportster. Took me a year to figure it **** out. It was stinky spark plug wire that cost $30.

It happend during hard acceleration and sounds exactly like what you are describing. It was hard pull and then nothing for split second and then it ripped again. Worth checking easy staff before you go to more advanced fixes.

Coil might be an issue as well. Coil check is really easy. In general sounds like it is issue with spark or fuel delivery (yeah I know it sounds stupid).

BTW I agree with previous comment on checking battery connection as my buddy was able to buy Sporty dirt cheap since dummy seller had same issue and as soon as we removed sound system that he connected directly to battery (which melted terminal) this was fixed instantly but in this case it was happening all the time while my wire gave me hell for long time on and off.

Worst case you will have SE wires upgrade for $30 and if issue is still there you can dig deeper and you will have nice wires as cheap bonus.

Good luck

**UPDATE**

1st thing checked was the battery connections, sure enough the positive terminal screw was loose. Tightened it up and did about a 100 mile ride and the issue was not present. So, hopefully that was the issue, thanks to those who posted useful info.
