Default 21" front wheel question

Seems like a lot of selections for 21" front wheels on Fatboys up to 2006

What's different about later models? I have a 2008 and there are much fewer choices.

Found this on Ebay. Can it, or my bike, be modified so it'll work?

I believe it's the bearings installed. 2006 down have 3/4" bearings...I'm not sure if your bike has 1" or 25 mm....if it uses 1" axles 1" bearings are a easy swap into the wheel...if 25 mm I'm not sure....

I just checked an looks like your bike uses 25 mm bearings an axles. I bet you can use it but tracking down bearings might be hard. from what I've read you want to replace the bearings that come in those lower priced wheels on ebay anyway.

Yes, the difference is going to be the axle size. When I switched to a 21" rim, I used bearing reducers. They simply slide into the bearing and allow your smaller axle to fit snugly. Work great and are much less labor intensive then swapping bearing.

no problem. here you go:

very easy install. they simply slide into the bearing and reduce the size down to 3/4" to fit your axle.

i have been running them for about 6 months with absolutely no issue. i also spoke with a tech from my local HD dealership. he said he has used them many times and would not hesitate to use them on his own bike. that was enough of a testimonial for me.

skewz you need to go the other way....those reducers are for making a late model wheel work on an older 3/4" axle bike...you're trying to make the smaller 3/4" bearing wheel work on your 25 mm axle.

oops ! sorry skewz, my fault. i didnt realize you were trying to increase the size. i thought you were reducing. if this is the case, your only option is to swap bearings or get another wheel.
