The paint is the same, unless you are comparing a glossy paint to a denim.

There may things not to like, and maybe even not liking a particular color or not liking the denim paint on some bikes. But vivid black 2017 is the same vivid black 2018.

Perhaps your vision is getting worse. We have an optometrist on this forum.

Gordon,

Industrial gray on the Fat Boy sets off the satin finish they used instead of chrome.

I have picture around somewhere of it.

Amazingly I got back in to edit in time.

I like all of the new softails. Fatbob and Fatboy especially. Its about time Harley started updating suspensions, engines and styling. Now if they would just put a Vrod engine in an Ultra Classic I would buy one.

Just like all the others.
Sorry brother from down under, I'm going to need clarification on "butthurt whinger".

I like the looks of the new low rider, esp the black with the retro AMF colors accents on the tank.

I think the new Low Rider looks cool. You can get Harley cruise control, just not from the factory.

I finally saw a new 2018 yesterday and it was very disappointing. The paint was just okay (blue, which I usually love), but it's just paint. Usually when you see an HD paint job in person it screams quality but not this time. The handlebars are that really cheap looking polished steel look; not nice chrome and It really cheapens the overall look and quality appearance of the bike. That type bar was originally on my '09 Ulta but most of it is covered with the fairing so it's not that big of a deal. On an open cruiser like the LR I expected more. The 2017 looked so much better and I had high hopes for the '18. Since the whole line is now ride by wire I thought maybe cruise control would be available like it is on the Heritage, but it's not. Overall i found the bike to not look or feel very high quality considering the price, not something I really expect from Harley-Davidson.
Chrome plated steel will rust. Polished stainless steel won't. Give me polished stainless any day. This place is something else. They could hang you people with a new rope, and you'd still find something to bitch about.

I had a 2005 Low Rider, it didn't come with chrome handle bars either...

No, Harley has used stainless steel for their handlebars and fork logs since at least 1949.
