Default Fatboy windshield

Hey Guys,

i have a 2001 Fatboy. The previous owner installed a fairing from a road king (I believe). I don't like the fairing cause it doesn't mount right, is very bouncy and I don't use the radio.
Whats the best windshield that would provide similar wind coverage?
or a fairing best fit on a Fatboy WITHOUT a radio in it, a glovebox/storage container would be ok.

Thanks!

I am 99% sure all Road Kings came with windshields (or nothing) not fairings, unless it is after market.
With that said do you have or can you post a picture?
A number of aftermarket fairings on the market.
Could it just be poor mounting (bouncy).
If it is a quick release set up it be causing the bounce.

Most windshields will give you similar coverage except for your hands.
I went with a Harley windshield and other than the hands it has similar coverage.

I may be mistaken what it came from though.

What does the inner fairing look like?
From the side it almost looks stock.
I am not aware of a kit/brackets to put a HD fairing on a softail (but what do I know).
Memphis Shades makes some that look real close to stock.
I am sure other brands do also.

Are those windshield mounts that it's mounted to?

Having issues blowing up the pictures.....
With that said it looks like a stock inner fairing as well.
Is the a clamp around the upper shock?
Would be interesting to see under the outer (front) fairing.
