I've used these on 2 separate harleys so far. I'll never own a bike without one.

Here's what I use:

https://shop.gopurepower.com/pure-po...rt-pp8110.html

When I bought mine 4 years ago it was rated at 22 microns "absolute". Now, somewhat tongue in cheek I expect, its rated at 1 micron "nominal".

For an explanation, read my post above.

Permanents are the way to go. Paper filters have been known to be internally flawed, (torn open), so they filter nothing and the user will never know. Paper filter bypasses typically do not have a progressive bypass valve as permanents normally do, which means on cold starts and when you're "given er", no filtering takes place within the paper ones. Inspecting the guts of your filter at each oil change is always reassuring. Paper filters are,, paper.

I wouldn't purchase a permanent filter out of parsimony, because I don't believe they save money when "everything" is taken into account. They're a superior filter and that, IMHO, is why you should buy one, if you buy one.

I no longer use the K&N filters. The nut at the base of the filter seems to be a good idea until it strips and you have to get creative to get the filter off since it does not have facets at the base a oil filter wrench can use. I'll go with the OEM filter. I might consider the reusable filter in the future.

I get a chuckle when posters put that they are not affiliated with "SAID" company.

So what happens if you are and post it online? Does that mean you get in trouble with the moderators? I go with Stock filters since they are like 8 or 10 bucks.
