2018 Heritage or Fat Boy
#31
Hi...1st time poster...the new 2018 Softails have me back wanting to ride after 25 years...bought 1st year Fat Boy in 1990 at age 37...now 62 and have it narrowed down to Heritage 114 or Fat Boy 114...test rode both a few days ago...looking for some insight from those with more riding experience...love the look of the Fat Boy, but a bit concerned about tire size and ability to ride...Heritage seems more practical for someone coming back to riding in their 60's...will do limited mileage, fair weather cruising...thanks in advance for your thoughts and insight.

Congrats! Shield pops off in 5 seconds...bags come off easy in 5 minutes and look good on or off...you've got the best of both worlds and it's much cheaper and easier to remove the practical parts of the Heritage than to add them to the Fat Boy.

It would have been an easy choice for me. If your goal is to actually ride the thing, then the Heritage is the easy choice. Color-wise.... Twisted Cherry all the way.
Still until news breaks that the transmission fluid migration issue has been resolved... I wouldn't have pulled the trigger.... All that I can say to those that do... Thanks... Somebody has got to beta test these things...
