Default Has anyone purchased a extended warranty for a 18 softail?

Has anyone purchased a extended warranty for there new 18 softail? If so trying to get an idea of the going rate. Strongly considering a new 18 Heritage Classic with the 114. Will be my last bike, would be nice having long term coverage if it makes sense.

Look forward to the feedback

Although the bikes have changed significantly for the '18 model year, I wouldn't imagine the cost of an ESP has. Besides, it's a negotiable fee.

While you await the actual numbers, I would forecast a 5 year ESP (after factory warranty) with wheel coverage to cost between $1800 and $2800 in most cases.

How much would you want to spend for it to "make sense"?

I did for the first time ever...but prices and process were same as ever. Don't remember off the top of my head. They offered up to 84 months which I remember being pretty cheap. I went with 60. They are of course transferable, cancelable, and come with a slew of benefits like free rental bike if you're down for repairs, tire and wheel etc.

Before you buy the warranty, check with these guys http://www.boardtrackerharleyonline.com/h-d

Not sure if they are still doing warranties at the discounted rates, but when they were Kutter HD, nobody could touch them on price. I know they still discount parts & my account transferred from Kutter with everything on my wish list.

Thank you. I'm in California, don't think they cover this state.

Was hoping for $1500. Guess I won't buy a warranty. Not on bike this simple. A cvo maybe, they have enough stuff to warrant those prices.

Thanks

You can get an ESP for $1500 but it may only be for 2 or 3 years.

"Not on bike this simple"? Don't be fooled. A CVO is no different than any other motorcycle. It has more bling, custom paint and a larger engine. But, paint is paint and an engine is an engine. There's nothing that can go wrong with a non-CVO engine or paint that can't go wrong with a CVO engine or paint.

Kutter used to sell the Harley Davidison ESP warranties at huge discounts effective anywhere, I'm not sure if the new owners are doing the same but it's worth checking out.

I will, thank you. Never hurts to ask. I'm not willing to pay more than $1500 for 5 additional years. You can buy a 7 year warranty for a new automobile for close to $1500, considering the difference in complexity it seems a motorcycle should be less........of course, what do I know!
