Nobody’s tryin to be a tough guy around here so dont put words in my mouth and try and spin it into something its not. And, btw, I’m not cursing with asterisks, the forum changes that for me, I generally swear a lot, who ****ing cares. Age has little if anything to do with the metal of a man, you can be a young idiot or an old one. You can choose to blindly respect anyone you want, for me, a person can earn it reardless of how long theyve managed to continue breathing on the planet. Also, not dissing anyones ride, and I’m also not a youngster. Y’all can make me out to be an *******, and you can think I’m the biggest ******* on this forum, it's of no consequence to me whatsoever, just dont put words in my mouth. Have great weekend and ride safe.

I couldn't care less is someone doesn't like the looks of the 2018 Softails. I happen to like what HD did. Just a matter of preference. I don't like fat chicks but I'm glad some dudes do because we all need a piece of *** from time to time. For those who don't like them, there are tons of other bikes out there they could look into.

The "kids" work for Apple and Microsoft and thousands of other companies in, or using, high-tech, and they get paid plenty. Just look at all the BMW and Audi cars in the parking lots.
These buyers got the dough, but they want more than style for it. They don't want to buy bikes with **** suspension and then spend thousands more to re-engineer it so it can be like it should have been when it left the factory. The factory needs to deliver modern engineering and performance to earn their respect and their dollars. There are plenty of companies that have already figured this out and sales are up.
HD stepped up in 2017 with the touring line and in 2018 with the Softails. Now the unique HD style is packaged in a modern engineering marvel of a machine. There's nothing else like it in the world and I think sales will prove this as word gets out that HD is freakin' cool. (Or whatever the new word for "cool" is this week.)
It is rare when anything cool last across generations. Some things do, and I think the HD brand is one of those things. but in order for that to happen, the technology had to evolve.
LED lights look different, but they're everywhere in my house now and I'm very happy about the effect on my electric bill. They represent progress and the incandescent light bulb ain't coming back. There's hundreds of wonderful examples of true progress that's been embraced in every new M8 HD bike.
If you don't want to wave at a "kid" on a 2018 Softail, don't sweat it. The kid won't either. There will be other Harley "kids" who will become his community and hey, at least you don't have to chase 'em off your lawn anymore.
I'm the proud and very happy owner of a 2018 and the wife's got one on order. I don't know if we're HD people but we like these bikes very much and are very happy with what HD has done. My cruiser has the heart of a sport bike. Awesome!
