No takers on this one! Come On - this is hot topic. Please help me out. Don't want pay for the pipes and the dyno and then have to pay for the both a second time if I made a wrong choice.

Don't know about fat cat I have the pro pipe and it isn't quiet but no where as loud as long or short shots. It does have a different sound than the twin pipes.Did not dyno installed power commander, pipes and screaming eagle air filter set up myself. You can feel a large increase in power from just off idle all the way up.

Same here with the pro pipe. You can make it a little quieter if you wrap the baffle with fiberglass packing. (think it comes with it but mine burned/blew out pretty quick. Not bad on idle but can get loud in high rev ranges.

if you want a quiet pipe then just leave it stock.

Are you after performance? looks? Are you modified or stock?

Me personally I have the Fat Cat and so far I love it.It's MUCH quieter than the BSS that I had on there but at WOT has a nice deep bark to it.

Resurrecting this one myself... Sorry guys.. hehehe

Appears these D&D Fatcats are the hot tamale around the forum these days.... I love my rinehart staggered duals except they are pretty loud at times I'm not into it but love their tone except for a little bit too much "crack" when you punch it... And, I've got the typical drag-pipe low-RPM blues... If I open it up in lower RPM's to pull, it will actually start choking spitting and bucking like a bronco... I think that may be something that can be tuned out as it's a stock carb bike with K&N filter and dynajet kit installed... Probably just some jetting or maybe idle-mix adjustment?? But anyway, I've been considering these 2 into 1 fatcats... for giggles.

Would you say they're as loud as Rinehart staggereds or similar drag style pipes... "low-end rumble" or "high-end crack"??

I love the Fat Cat 2-1, however not the quietiest pipes around. I can keep it down in the neigborhoods if I excel slowly. I love the difference in performance these pipes made on my bike.

They look like they'd also fit with my low-hanging fat-a@@ iron max bags too.. a good thing..
They do look sharp.. better than the VH's or the RH's 2-1's I think... We'll see if I can get my staggered scoot tuned with the RH drags, I'll keep 'em, but these D&D's look like THE alternative if I cant.

Bassani Road-Rage is a great sounding pipe. Not too loud when you're putting in and out of the neighborhood......and yet when you crack it.............she really comes to life.

Love the pipe.......pretty much the same as the D & D for performance, but I like the sound much better.

This pipe doesn't get the same "pub" that the D & D does, but you should go check out Latus Harely and see their Dyno-Sheets. They have one that shows the Road-Rage against the Fatcat. If you like the power to come on at a slightly less RPM, then I think you'd really like the Bassani.

Just my .20

: )

I just swapped out my VH BSS for the new Rinehart 2 into 1. I really like the new set-up. The pipes are quieter than the Vance and Hines but still have some bark to them when I hit the throttle. Nice deep rumble tone. Chrome fit and finish good. Check them out. Good luck.
