Default Owner's Manuals

It would appear that you can download these for your bike. But I don't yet have the bike and indeed have not finally decided between the Fat Boy or the Breakout. To assist with my decision I'd like to be able to peruse the Owner's Manuals, but in order to download, you need to enter the VIN which or course I don't yet have and won't have until I've made the decision, for which I want the manuals to help decide. But I can't download as I don't yet have the VIN.... and so on.

Could anyone copy either/both of these to me? Since H-D do allow downloads I'm sure it's not actually breaking any copyright and in any case, it's just to help me decide which bike to buy, from them. They ought to be falling over themselves to provide a prospective customer with all the info they need to help make a purchase and pay them a lot of money.

Hopefully someone can help with this conundrum.

I noticed this too the other day and tried to put a VIN in for a bike that was on a dealer website and it wouldn't recognize it.

I'd love to get the manual for the Fat Bob as I put a deposit on one that will be delivered next week. A little pre-delivery reading would be nice since this is my first Harley.

Hey BikenG

I did some online search and I found a VIN from a 2018 Breakout 114 being sold in the US... the VIN is 1HD1YHK13JC016418

I went looking for the Owner's Manual... and it seems there is just one Generic Owner's manual for all Softails... no specific manuals for each model.. Also.. it does not seem like you can download the entire manual... you can view it online.. but to download it then you have to print each section individually.. pain in the butt .. I hope this helps.

Go to this link:

https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....cle/lookupForm

then enter VIN 1HD1YHK13JC016418

then click on "Vehicle Documents" on the top left corner

then "Owner's Manuals"
.
.

Brilliant. Thanks for that. I think I've got everything I can. Now for some reading.
