Your bike looks sweet.

Call Mean City Cycles. They will rebuild that seat anyway you want, and cheaper than a new seat.

Big Mule thank's brother, I can do the rebuild myself with gel insert-but looking at the trim bead around top edge of seat it might be hard after trimming like wanted to get that bead to look right, was looking yesterday at new covers without that rolled bead (maybe some gator).
cut it down 1.5-2" about 1" back and insert about .5" gel...
***wondering how guy's really like the gel insert in seat, I mean is it REALLY noticeable diff ?????????????????

Swapped the solo seat on my Slim for a solo Heritage seat. Never sat on a fatboy seat, but I can ride all day on the Heritage seat.

Fat Boy seats, especially the Lo unless they are the same (?) are very comfortable but just like pipes that is subjective since some like firm, some soft, and are asses are different. But I think my aforementioned statement is correct in that most comment about it being comfortable. In regards to gel, I can tell the difference and like it. I am selling a Fat Boy Lo seat with gel only because my Grasshopper Back Rest does not fit properly with it. It does make it sit higher since you cannot use just gel.

I always thought my stock Fatboy seat was comfortable (even for long rides) but I didn't like the look very much. I put on a LePera Silhouette as opposed to the Barebones, thinking it would be a little more comfortable. Not really. It looks good and is lower than stock but I have to use a Harley pad with it for long hauls.

Thanks for the info guys , the problem with the stock solo seat is the seat area is to short , my lower spine rubs on the curled up back bit , I need a longer solo seat with less of a kick at the back

Here is what a modified Fat Boy Lo seat (left)looks like next to a stock Fat Boy Lo seat (right). As you can see when you add new foam and gel it is higher and it has less of a rise at the back, which may help some like yourself.

I just got a Le Pera bare Bones for my 1994 Fatboy. I'm also going to re-upholster one I already had.

As you can see the stock FB S seat is pretty curved at the back , reshaping it may well be the way to go if i cant find one that suits me , thanks for the pictures guys
