Default speedometer sensor location

Where is the speedometer sensor exactly located on a 92 heritage softail? I am having trouble with my turn signals not canceling and was told that it may be defective or have metal shavings on the sensor.

My apologies. I read that as a 2002 model instead of a 1992. My bad.

On a '92 you have a mechanical speedo drive off the front wheel...

Does a 92 have self canceling turn signals?

Yes, '91 and up Softails have self canceling signals. there's a switch in the speedometer that sends a signal (green/white wire) to the turn signal module.

Your '92 has a mechanical speedometer driven off the front wheel. follow the speedometer cable and you'll find it. The electric speedo driven off the transmission didn't appear on the Softails until '96.

Do you think that maybe the self canceling issue may be due to the speedometer going bad?

Uncle G.
My trip meter on my speedometer has also stopped working and it is the original speedometer. Do you think that maybe the self canceling issue may be due to the speedometer going bad?
