Fact is, Harley doesn't make quality thick pipes like they used to. The difference between a think pipe with a set of shields and a custom pipe without all that shielding is like night and day.
I think your fine, it's just a thin-wall pipe.

Chinese steel.

It's junk. Replace the pipes now or hope they go ahead and crack before warranty runs out. Eventually, they are going to crack. Whatever you do, don't wrap them.

Mine does that or rather did until I changed the mufflers. It only happens if it idles for a bit.

Yea I'm not a fan of pipe wrap, my opinion it just accelerates the corrosion.
I think some different slip ons minus cats should cool it down. A tune would help even more.

Wrap insulates the pipe which makes it even hotter and breaks down faster. Not truly corrosion but the end result is the same.

I saw this on a car I owned, it was running sluggish and exh manifold would run red hot like that. Turned out to be a bad catalytic converter not letting exhaust flow through. Changed the cat and all was good.

I just find it hard to believe I would have two bad cats.
