Default Rear Brake Issue

2008 Heritage - - had new brake pads installed and fluid flushed by the dealer a month or so ago - - rode the bike a bit before taking off on a road trip last week.
During the ride, I noticed that the brake pedal seemed to need more travel than in the past - - then at one point on a very steep mountain pass with many sharp turns, the amount of travel increased to activate the brake.
Found a indy. shop in a small town, and the thought was that the brakes probably needed bleeding - - checked, and found no air in the line, but he said the fluid was old - he changed the fluid.
I now have brakes, however the amount of pedal travel is much more than normal.
Question: Is there an adjustment to correct this problem?

I am asking this, before I return to the dealer - - don't want them giving me some sort of song and dance.

The front brake works just fine - - pads were also replaced.

Thanks,
