Default Headlight Help!!

Good Day All, so I just recently encountered that my headlight is going off in the low beam position. I changed the bulb out already and it worked for a few hours. I also checked the connection and it was fine at the time but when I turn the bike on it goes out again. I tapped on the headlight housing and it comes on. I'm at a loss and wondering if anybody out there has had this problem. I'm also thinking of changing the harness, any ideas??

Thanks Memo

Try simple first. Clean the connectors with a CRC contact cleaner, emory cloth on the bulb terminals. I like to add a dielectric grease to the lamp terminals, a very slight thin layer is all thats needed.

You should also take a good look at the ground wire.

I had the same issue with my headlamp a few years ago. Turned out that the ground contact in the connector has opened enough to lose good contact. I removed the contact from the plug and tightened it a bit with pliers. Fixed it right up.

...+1 - Yes, at the very least check the ground, inspect everything while your in there. I should have mentioned that, not enough coffee or one too many bourbons > eek
