Default 6th speed indicator light failure

i have a 2008 crossbones and was riding and noticed my 6th speed indicator light was out. when i slowed down to about 65 mph, the light came back on and so did my check engine light. when i would accelerate again, both would go off. if i slowed down and shifted into 5th gear they would both go out, and i would never see the check engine light below 6th gear. there were no issues with performance, no stutter or anything, twist the wick and it would go. after riding a while, both lights would just come back on and then eventually stayed on while riding in 6th gear. is this the vehicle speed sensor going/gone bad? i've researched stuff, manual and all, and that's all i've come up with. there are no other speedo issues tho, which is what makes me hesitant to just replace that alone. the DTC's i pulled i can't find out what they are (S- 60563, 61121, 61122, SP- 61006, 61007). could this possibly be the crank position sensor? no problems at all with performance, which makes me feel this is certainly a sensor issue. thanks for the help...
