Default Cleaning spokes on Heritage

What are you folks using.

I see adds for stuff, but wonder if it works.

I'm using a brush sort of thing (kitchen cleaning tool), but cannot get into all the places under the saddle bags, and the area where spokes attach to the wheel are never really clean.

I'm lazy and do not want to remove the bags every time I wash the bike.

Thanks,
Balloo

the only good way is jack it up and spin a new section of the wheel to the bottom after you have the visible section cleen. microfiber rag with spray detailer on it and run it back and forth through your spoke like its a towel in your buttcrack lol

If you aren't going to spend the 5 minutes it takes to remove the saddlebags, then it isn't worth the time trying to clean the spokes. Do it right or don't do it at all.

I use a couple of wide flat shoelaces to clean the spokes. The first one I dip in Windex to clean the spoke. I wrap the shoelace around the spoke and pull on the ends in an alternating fashion moving from the hub to the rim. I follow this with the second shoelace using Pledge or a chrome polish. If there is a very stubborn stain on the spoke I will selectively clean the area with a scrub daddy or 0000 steel wool.

The wheels on my Heritage will take 30 minutes each to clean and detail them. As Otter suggested, use a jack so you can spin the wheel making it easier to get to each spoke.

I use a soft brush I picked up from Bed Bath and Beyond that is for washing pots pans etc.

When I wash the bike I use Turtle Wax Zip wash and just dip the soft brush into the wash bucket and go to town.

Takes just a few minutes.

An SOS pad works for me, especially if you have any rust on the spokes.

Pull the bags so you can get to the spokes.

The Speed Master Wheel Brush makes cleaning the spokes a lot easier.

I just rinse the wheels with water, spray on some S100, then rinse. The spokes come out perfectly clean without even having to touch them.

I use this brush for between the spokes and the wheel, then sort of use it to get the spokes as well.
