I'm no expert but I kow the solid mounted have counterbalance shafts i the twin cams, they might be the same in the EVO line...since solid mount are in the softails I think they have different mounts an use diff transmissions.

Softails with Twin Cam motors are solid mounted and have a built-in counter-balancer to smooth out the vibrations.

Rubber mounted motors in Dynas and Touring bikes do not have the counter-balancers, using the mounts to absorb the vibrations.

depends on what bike you are talking about. the softail models have no rubber mount engines. twin cam softails have counter balanced engines. earlier models don't have anything and are bolted right to the frame just like shovels and pans and everything before them. rubber mounting comes into play with the Dynas, some superglides and touring bikes type bikes. who knows what next year will bring ?
