Default Trade??????

First time poster long time lurker. What a great board. I have gotten so much information, "NOTHIN BETTER THAN HARELY FOLKS" I have a 1998 Electra Glide Ultra classic annv edition. A friend of mine wants to trade me a 2000 Hertiage Softail. I know the 98 rides better and all that. What I would like to know is it a good trade value wise? Thanks for you input.

Interesting scenario. 1st.. Welcome from NC! bout time ya joined!

hmmm.. 1998 full boat glide (I assume Evo engine)... for an early TC88 Heritage..
I'm inclined to say keep the evo. Just because there's so much talk around the early TC88's and ball vs needle bearings and things.
Your 98 is a nice scoot.. If it ain't broken, don't trade it. And yes, I'll bet it rides a LOT better.

And evo parts and chrome goodies are for the most part less expensive than comparable parts for the newer scoots.. the new platform gave vendors cause to bump up the prices a few extra bucks.

.. All coming from an 04 Fatboy owner.

Now that ya joined.. lets see some cool pics of that glide. [8D]

Also the 2000 heritage does not have the counter balanced motor so it won't be near as smooth as the new softtails. I'm with Babs, keep your bike. Baggers Rule!

Go to the Kelly Blue Book website and find retail on both bikes. That'll give you a starting point.

The 2000 Softails was the first year to have the counter balanced motor. I had a 2000 Heritage that rode like a dream and I never had a single problem with it.
