Default RE: Fatboy windshield

I tell you what, I don't really care what it looks like, all I know is that two weeks ago I went from Maryland to Key West FL and back, and that "ugly" windshield saved my face from 10,000 bugs + rain

I agree with what people on here are saying....I prefer the look without the windshield, but at least for me, it is a much more enjoyable ride with it. I have the Harley standard height, quick detach windshield, but I don't even take it off for around town riding.

I have to agree with almost everyone else. I dont like the look, but it sure makes the ride more enjoyable.

Yep... I ride mine a lot on shorter local rides without, but if I'm putting on any major miles on the freeway/highway I'm going to have my shield on.

We did 250 miles in the Sequoia National Forest a couple of weekends ago, and I left the shield at home. Since it was mostly on two-lane roads, it was just fine, although we rode about 60 miles there and back on freeway and I did miss it at that time.

I like the look without as well, so I bought the shortest HD detachable. Once I tried it on the highway, like everyone else says, it sure makes the ride more enjoyable and easier on you.
I put it on myself and it was a breeze. Only have to remove and replace 4 bolts (1 at a time) with loctite.

I've got a 14 by 14 windvest I would be willing to sell for $240.00 if anyone is interested. It's only about 2 months old and still in perfect condition.

I too don't like the look, but without it I don't enjoy the ride.

I had to buy a second one as I added aux lamps and didn't think i would when i bought the first and they weren't compatable....

Will take it off for poker runs and rolling thunder, etc....

Don't like'em, I haven't given in to the pressure from my buddies yet. I've rode 2000 miles in a long weekend without one. A rider backrest is more beneficial for overall comfort on long rides IMO. However, with the quick detach options you can have it both ways. I'm still considering getting one. Maybe a low profile smoked one would be cool on my scoot.

floydpink....this spring I put on a clear 14" windvest on my FB...it hasn't been off since. I like it. Not only for keeping wind of of my chest but it reduces the wind sound in/on my ears. And I feel you really don't notice it unless you look for it or if it's @ a certain angle.
