Exclamation MS Batwing fairing reviews

Hey everyone,

I have a 12' Softail Slim, and I am looking for some wind protection on these long rides we do. I have been eyeing the Memphis shades Batwing for my slim, but a couple of guys at the dealership tell me that they hear complaints about this fairing all the time. But, they never really said what the complaints were.

Can anyone here that has a MS Fairing, give me an honest review of this fairing before I run out and buy one?

Thanks everyone, and God Bless

I've never ridden with a MS fairing, but it seems too small. Lots of buffeting I hear. For what they cost $400+ after you buy the hardware I'd just get a full size Bat (Woody's is $350 w/o stereo and that's complete w/hardware.

Get you one. I bought one for my Fatboy, used it a couple of years, then installed it on my Fatbob. Works well and you can adjust height and angle to reduce turbulence. I like it for cooler weather. Easy to remove and reinstall when weather changes.

They work great, but strongly suggest you get the lowers to go along with it. Dealer just wants to sell you something they stock.

The Woody's must have went in price, and I don't see anything for the Slim FLS on their website. I sent them an email.

So are you saying the Memphis shades is worth buying, but will require some adjustments to get the right feel going down the road?

Nice thing about them is they are detachable and use the same trigger lock mechanism as the Memphis Shades windshields, so you can have various options.

Most people complain because it is just a shell. There is no inner fairing with a radio etc.

I don't care for the way a batwing fairing looks on a slim, but that's just my opinion / preference.

Memphis Shades offers numerous styles and sizes of windshields. That's what I have on my Heritage. I am very happy with the windshield but the instructions for installing the trigger lock hardware on the bike are terrible.

Thanks for your input. I am 6', so I should be good to go also. I really appreciate your review. I think I have made up mind about getting one. Now to find the funds... lol
