Still no luck. Last Saturday I ohmed out most of the ignition circuit. Checked the stator for ***** and giggles. Pulled off the manifold pressure sensor. I'm at a total loss. The guy I bought it from gave me an out. I may load her up and go get my money back.

Put a spare set of plugs in the holes and try again to see if there is spark (doing the same routine as you did). I was informed that cranking the motor without plugs in it, won't generate a spark. As dubious as it sounds, I found it to be true.

Have you tried removing the ICM and seeing if the trigger rotor spins.. Mine does not!! Wondering if this may be the same issue?

Are you talking about the ignition control module or somthing else. Can you tell me where it is. I've pretty much looked at any component with a wire hanging out of it. I'm truly stumped

OK well this is on my bike may be different for yours... On the right side of bike ICM side you should have a cover remove the two screws on that cover... Then you should have two bolts holding the ICM sensor plate in place. Make sure you mark of where the plate is mounted before removing(adjusting this can also advance or retard your timing) remove the two flat head style bolts.. Then simply push the wires up from underneath while pulling on the ICM to move out of way... You should then see the trigger rotor... With ICM out of the way turn the ignition on and try starting the motor, see if the trigger rotor spins...

Ok. I did that first thinking it had a magneto. I pulled off the cover and it was just an empty void. Nothing in it. It's a 2001 with carb.

You seem to be on the right path. Any other thoughts or suggestions?
