I installed the Universal Saddlebag Lock Kit (90300017) today. They went in fairly easy and work well. The best part is getting them keyed to match my fork lock key. It is nice to only carry a single key. If you have new Heritage, it looks like the only solution for locking your bags.
Does it works when the saddlebag is empty?
How did you get to match keys?
Thanks!

It works fine with the saddlebags empty. You just need to align the locking pin into the hole and push the lock in. I have gotten good at doing it with one hand.
I took my key to the dealer who read the code off of it. They charged me a fee to get the matching locks. I believe it was around $10 in addition to the $49.95.

I too used the Harley saddlebag lock.... I put them on a set of HD accessory bags, I didn't like the OEM bags.
They work well.... I would just caution mounting it too close to an edge like in the HD pic and on my bike... it just makes it a little trickier to get the locking pin aligned... If I did it over I would mount them closer to the center of the lid...
Oops- just noticed you already got them and installed them in the center.... I thought that post from from someone else recommending the HD locks
