Hopefully the set that I got were just the exception, not the rule.

On mine, you can squeeze the bar and slide your hand down the beam/upright portions and hear the chrome crinkling. It's not well adhered to the steel that the bars are made from.

Thats a pic of when I installed my big bore kit. I had parts all over the garage. The bike had only 500 miles on it and I was freaking out when I saw just how many parts there were.

I do know that they outsource the coatings, mine are black powdercoated and have no issues.
