DynoJet Power Vision Questions (sputtering/hesitation) for Breakout
Hi All, I just picked up a '13 Breakout! (should probably change my name to Non-DynaDrew or something)..
A little about the bike- it has Bassani Firesweep pipes, Screamin' Eagle heavy breather, S&S Torque Cams, and a Dynojet Power Vision system.
NOW a little about me- I've never used a Dynojet-type system so it's completely foreign to me.
What I do know is that when riding the bike, I get a bit of hesitation or, I guess sputtering, sometimes when I throttle the gas at lower RPM's. From reading on the forum, it seems that this has to do with the Dynojet system and how it's programmed the bike... correct? If so, how do I go about fixing it, and.... where do I start to learn about understanding this system???
Sorry if this may be a trivial topic, and thank you for the help ahead of time folks.

If you don't know how to use the PV, the first thing I would suggest you do is go over to the Power Vision Sticky thread. A lot of great information there. Also, just google power vision Autotune. That's basically what you need to do, run the Autotune feature and that may fix your problem... As long as you don't have any other mechanical/electrical issues going on, like a dirty fuel filter or something.

Do you have a DynoJet PowerVision tuner? Or were you told it was tuned with a PowerVision tuner?
The DynoJet PowerVision is a tuner that can read and change the tune in your ECM. The tune can be any number of canned tunes, or a custom tune that was made using the PowerVision (PV).
If you don't have the tuner, you will need to get some kind of device (do your homework) to fix/change the tune in your ECM for better performance.
If you have the tuner, re-flashing the tune is child's play, as well as using basic auto tune. The PV is an excellent tuner, and very easy to use.
I suggest you call DynoJet, explain your issues and follow their advice. They will probably ask you to send them a copy of your tune, they will tweak it, send it back, and you will flash the new tune into your ECM.... then you may or may not want to do an auto tune.
Go to the FuelMoto and/or DynoJet web sites.... they have a bunch of tutorial videos on how to use the PV tuner.... it really is quite simple..
FWIW... Ihave a powervision and it is licensed to 3 bikes, all with different stages (a stage I, II, & II) of tunes from the PV tuner. All bikes use tune maps from Fuelmoto w/ a couple autotunes. All the bikes run great...
Good luck...

FP3 is good and simple for your exhaust and ac configurations. But he says he has S&S cams. I doubt V&H has a map for that setup. You'll find there are much more maps available for Power Vision then there are for FP3.

Not to mention that a Power Vision to a FP3 is a major step backward, it will probably give you a decent autotune even with the cams, but nothing as good as a PV. I pretty much just threw my FP3 in the garbage because I have gone beyond a stage 2 and the FP3 just couldn't keep up. If you have that PV, use it.

Do you know what base map you are running? I doubt there is much chance of finding a decent base map for your combo of parts. Not because there is anything wrong with the parts. But it isn't a common combination. You need to know which model of cam you have. If it were my bike I would seek out a professional tuner.
