I don't think I had the Cobra at the boat race but it's been around Va Bch, Chesapeake, Norfolk (naval base too) and greater tidewater or 10+ years. I have it now at our other home down on the Gulf coast of SW Florida. So, I take it you're from the Hampton are? A friend of mine owns the Maaco over there, Dale Blankenship.

I filled the hole in the filter backing plate with some RTV and smeared it around the edges of the hole so it won't move. The negative pressure in the filter area is so minimal that it will be fine. Since it isn't oil (apparently) that's dripping from the filter bottom onto the cam cover there's no need for a catch can system. I'll probably just put it all back to stock and clean up the engine with brake clean when I need to. Bummer...
