Default Saddle Bags

I am looking at some saddlebags for my bike. I'm a new rider just started last summer and need to know if these ones are a good deal.
Thanks

The price looks very reasonable for all leather bags with mounting hardware.
They advertise '100% leather' with hard backing plates.

They seem to have lots of features, but are a bit on the small side so as to fit without moving the turn signals. If you are OK with the size, they appear to be a bargain.

I have no experience with Viking bags, but I think a lot of people here do. Maybe someone will chime in.

You want the best?
It'll cost ya'.....
These are the best built and most durable bags I've ever seen.
Even the saddle maker I had to recover my seat said they're the BEST bags he's ever seen.
He's been in business over 45 years.......

two recommendations with different price ranges...

foxcreekleather.com
bought my 1st set of bags from them "Deluxe Pony Express" bags $395. they can either be thrown over the fender or it can be quick detachable with ez-brackets or something similar. Pretty good bags, stuffed them to their max on many longer trips. Thanking the Army for teaching me how to roll all my clothes to make space haha! Cool thing with these is they have a handle on top, so when you disconnect at the end of a long day you can walk away with bags in hand easily.

Ospreylimited.com
Buffalo Indian Chief bags $795 +S/H
these are made to look like the Heritage Springer Classic bags. Tons of room and have a good nostalgic look to them. These connect with ez-brackets that are included in the cost. All of these bags are made to order, so you can customize from leather type/color to conchos or beads, or cuts and patterns etc. This guy does great work. Located in Western MA.

good luck and hope you find yourself with new bags soon! Ride Safe!

shop Ebay for used bags or new take-offs. I just got a like new set of these http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...02-9013306b--1 including mounting hardware for $250. The look great

I'm not a fan of viking bags because of how they open. It's tough to explain, but the hinge is weird.

Also, that big you're looking at is for the Dyna - you wont need the shock cut-out.

While Hog Deluxe Old School Saddlebags look great and have a lot of room...IMO their customer service as well as their standing behind their products leaves a lot to be desired.

I bought some Viking bags for my softail. They are acceptable, but tops sagged in about a year. Got lucky and found a used set of big ironbags on CL for my dyna. Now that is quality. Should last me several lifetimes and made in USA. expensive though, but worth it. I only paid 300 for mine!
