Default Do pipes "break in"?

I'd swear my pipes sound different as they age. I have about 1000 miles on them, and they sound way diferent than they did when they were new.

If so... how/why does this work?

hmmmmmmmmmm...

They sound more tinny and clappy initially. As the carbon builds up inside them they mellow out and have more of a rumbling growl.

It is true, as the carbon builds up in the pipes, it will take on a diffrent tone. I think that pipes sound better and better, the longer they are used. I like that old raspy sound... that is what makes a HD to me!
