Default springer Wobble

Having an annoying problem w/ my springer. At around 40 MPH I get a crazy front end wobble, its usually durin decel, but occaisonally during accel. Anyone know what can cause that, it has almost 10K on it & it might be tire related. (they arent too bad, but they arent great either) Has anyone ever had this prob w/ a springer (or any other bike)

Nice bike. I had the same problem with the exception of around 15 mph. Changed tires and rims and so far no wobble. You may check that your spokes are all tight and wheel is still true in round. If I remember correctly, the steeringstem bearingsare not dueuntil 20k for replacement.

Assuming the tire doesn't have any obvious problems, I'd have a look at tire balance. As was suggested, also might want to throw the wheel on a truing stand. If it's balance, you'll probably see a shake at the next harmonic which would be around 80.

I had the same problem with my 06 FX springer. At 40 mph it would wobble. Very slight but when I put a Tbag on the passenger seat it was severe. It was a combination of things that was the cause. 2 loose spokes, 5lbs too low on air, weight fell off. Also with the tbag expanded it was like a big sail in the wind taking weight off the front end. Its fine now.

tire weight was fine but the rear tire is pretty worn. Spokes may be loose too
